concrete
This project is a sculptural installation that explores the relationship between natural landscapes and the controlled environment of the gallery space. Inspired by mountainous terrain, the work transforms the traditional plinth into an uneven, concrete form that rejects smoothness and stability in favour of texture and irregularity.
Combining concrete, digitally transferred photographic imagery, and living plants, the installation brings together elements of the natural and the constructed. The photographic images have been applied using a digital lift process, allowing them to become embedded within the concrete surface itself. Alongside this, the plants introduce gradual change and growth over time. As viewers move around the work, they encounter shifting perspectives that reflect the experience of navigating a landscape.
